Ánforas de mar is a company that produces and sells replicas of ancient amphoras (8th century BC to 1st century AD) found in shipwrecks. They are based on research carried out on amphoras used in the Iberian, Greek, Roman, Cretan civilisations, and the development of a fully natural accelerated ageing process.
Working under the seaThe amphoras are submerged in the coast in conditions that favour encrustation with fauna and flora, thus obtaining perfect replicas. Our products are different because the ageing process is not chemical – it is 100% natural. They are ecological and artisan products, with important historical-cultural connotations.
Sales and Exhibition Centre in AlmeríaEach amphora is unique and exclusive. No two are the same and the aroma of the sea endures, unlike direct competitors, which mostly use an oxidation process to age the vases.
This advantage over our competition is based on the procedure used to create the products, which in general combines the variety and richness of the ecosystems in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park (Almería, Spain) with the traditional creation of pieces of ceramic, using forms and sizes from documented amphoras from ancient Mediterranean cultures.
The result is magical.
